Washington Insurance Adjuster

Adjuster License Requirements
To become a licensed insurance adjuster in Washington, individuals must:
- Be 18 years of age or more.
- Residents must take the Washington exam, administered by Prommisor.
- Exemption: Applicants for an adjuster's license who for a period of one year have been full-time salaried employees of an insurer or a general agent, adjusting, investigating, or reporting claims arising under insurance contracts are exempted from the examination requirement.
- Non-residents must hold a resident license in a state which extends reciprocal licensing priveledges to residents of Washington.
Licensing Process
- Washington Adjuster Application must be completed and submitted with a fee of $75.
- Applicant must submit fingerprint card form FD-258 along with a cashiers check for $54

- Washington grants licenses on a reciprocal basis to residents of states which extend reciprocal licensing privileges to residents of Washington.
Maintaining Your License in Washington
- 24 hours of Continuing Education, 3 of which must cover ethics, are required every 2 years to maintain your Washington license.

- A separate $54 Cashier’s check, company check or money order, payable to the Washington State Patrol, Identification Section must accompany the fingerprint card.
