Louisiana Insurance Adjuster

Adjuster License Requirements
To become a licensed insurance adjuster in Louisiana,
- Residents must:
- Be 18 years of age or more.
- Reside in or maintain a principal place of business in Louisiana;
- Complete a prelicensing education program (when required) and pass an exam (when required);
- Submit the appropriate forms and fees; and
- Have the written consent of the commissioner of insurance pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 1033 (when required)
- non-Residents must:
- Be 18 years of age or more.
- Be licensed in resident state and be in compliance with continuing education requirements in the resident state, or another state in which a nonresident license is held; and
- Submit the appropriate forms and fees to the Department at the Contact address below.
Licensing Process
- Follow instructions for application submission according to the Licensing Information Bulletin and Application.
Reciprocity
- Louisiana grants reciprocal licensing privileges to anyone holding a license from their home state. If your home state does not license adjusters, you must pass the Louisiana exam.
Maintaining Your License in Louisiana
- 24 Hours Continuing Education is required Louisiana resident adjusters.
