Adjuster License Requirements

To become a licensed Oregon insurance adjuster, individuals must:

  • Be 18 years of age or more;
  • Be a resident of Oregon;
  • Pass examination;
  • Disclose any felony or misdemeanor conviction;
  • Complete criminal records request form 440-4862.

Oregon License Application

For Residents:

  • All resident adjusters must take an adjuster exam administered by Prometric. No pre-licensing training is required.
  • Fill out and submit an Individual Insurance License Application Form 3000.
  • Pay a $122.25 registration and licensing fee.
  • Submit a fingerprint card (Form FD-258).
  • Submit the Criminal records request form (Form 4862).

For Non-Residents:

  • Fill out and submit an Individual Insurance License Application Form 3000.
  • Contact the Insurance Division to see if an exam is necessary.
  • If no exam is necessary, submit an original letter of certification, dated within the last 90 days, from your home state.
  • Pay a $75 fee.

Reciprocity

Oregon grants adjusters holding a license in their state of residence an Oregon non-resident license on a reciprocal basis.

Maintaining Your License

  • No Continuing Education is required.
  • You may renew online via nipr.com.
  • This license is good for two years and will expire in your birth-month.

License Fees

  • Initial Licensing and Application Fee: $75
  • Background check: $47.25
  • Exam Fee: $55
  • License Renewal Fee: $45
  • Late Renewal Fee: $45 (in addition to $45 renewal fee).
