Adjuster License Requirements
To become a licensed New Mexico insurance adjuster, individuals must:
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- Have a minimum of one year of experience, education or training in the handling of losses or claims, such that they are capable of fulfilling the duties of an adjuster responsibly;
- Be bonded in the amount of $10,000.
- Pay the $30 licensing fee..
New Mexico License Application
- Complete the New Mexico Adjuster Application Forms 207-b & 207-a and submit them with a fee of $30.00.
- Complete the Bond form (appended to application forms).
- All application and bond forms must be notarized.
Reciprocity
If you hold a resident license in any other state, then you may obtain the New Mexico Adjuster license reciprocally. If your home state does not license adjusters, you will need to submit a letter from your insurance commissioner or a copy of your state's statutes.
Maintaining Your License
- There is no continuing education requirement for New Mexico adjusters. Non-residents do have to remain CE compliant in their home state, but there is no additional requirement for their New Mexico license.
- License renewals are due on April 1st each year.
