Adjuster License Requirements
To become a licensed insurance adjuster in Montana,
- Residents must take the Montana exam and submit an application.
- Non-residents must submit a letter of verification from their home state, or a state in which they are an adjuster, along with the application.
Licensing Process
- Montana Insurance Adjuster Application must be completed and submitted with a fee of $50.00.
- Fingerprinting and a background check are required for residents.
Reciprocity
- Montana grants reciprocal licensing privileges to non-residents holding an adjuster's license.
Maintaining Your License in Montana
- 24 hours of CE (one of which must be in insurance law) are required every 2 years for residents of Montana.
- All licenses must be renewed once every two years, in the licensee's birth month. There is a $100 renewal fee.
